Captain Judy's Saltwater Fishing Report
Which includes:
Inshore report, Offshore Report, Freshies Suggestions, and "Little Miss Judy's Believe It or Not!" (Story)
Freshies Suggestions
As you know I am always asking for freshwater tips from my saltwater fishermen. Most fishermen don't get to saltwater fish as much as they would like. Heck, most of it's due to location. So therefore they fish the waters that are close, which normally boils down to freshwater!
While fishing offshore the other day I had Louie Kirschner onboard for a day of offshore saltwater fishing. As we made our way to the area to which we were going to try and catch live bait the subject of "Gold Hook Bait Rigs" came up! As you know, especially if you have been reading my fishing report, that gold hook bait rigs are what you need to catch offshore saltwater bait. The bait I am talking about is cigar minnows, Spanish sardines, sand perch, rock bass, reef runners, and anything else that looks like it would get any attention or fit into a big bottom fish's mouth!
As we caught our bait, Louie and I started talking. It seems that they use the same method for catching bait. The bait that they catch is called herring. This is the best bait to use when targeting striped bass. So therefore when at the tackle shop pick yourself up some gold hook bait rigs! The good news is no matter what "catching is catching!" Kids and the adult ones too love to catch with these rigs! So therefore here's an option for "catching bait, satisfying your guest, and getting the bait collecting job done!"
