Sal Mattino

Our day starts off dodging early morning thunder storms. After avoiding the weather we fill our live well with three dozen live baits and head out of the Stuart Inlet east to the eight mile reef area.

Once we arrive at the reef, it is not five minutes we have our first Bonito on. These fish are under appreciated due to the poor quaility of the flesh. But I am here to tell you they are a fierce fighting fish. Once they get over fourteen pounds, they are exhausting! The initial run is spectacular! They refuse to give up, once they see the boat they take off for another blistering run.

We stayed busy with Bonito for a couple of hours, then decided to move in order to attempt a different challenger! That's my fishing report for this Sunday July 6th, 2008. Boat safely, fish well! Capt. Sal from St. Lucie Sportfishing Charters!
