The striped bass action for the captains of the Beach Haven Charter Fishing Association has been nothing short of sensational for the past several days. A mass of large bass have moved down within striking distance of Little Egg Inlet, and there are reports that there are more to follow. Most estimations are that this strong bite will continue into December.

Captain Gary Dugan of the "Irish Jig" termed his action over last weekend as "epic days." His anglers were catching bass until their arms were too tired. On Sunday his biggest fish was 30-pounds and on Monday he trolled with white spoons. The previous weekend Captain Gary took third place in the Tuckerton Redman Tournament with a top fish of 34.2 pounds.

Captain Jimmy Zavacky had the Magee party out on the "Reel Determined" and reports having some action trolling but catching most of his fish snagging and dropping bunker. His party brought home 6 nice linesiders.

Captain Fran Verdi of the "Francesca Marie" reports he has been catching bass for almost 4 weeks with the current action the best of the fall. His last couple of trips have been off Island Beach State Park where he has been catching fish snagging and dropping and also trolling spoons. He is optimistic the fish will move directly off Beach Haven to cut down on the distance of his trips.
