This report is for the past two day's which were artificial trips. Most of the

fish have finished spawning here on the St Johns River in the Central Area.

I am still seeing a few fish on beds but the major spawn is over.Which means

that the big females are ready to eat.

I had a great time guiding one of my regular clients Tony J on Friday and

Tony and I did find a couple Females still on beds later in the morning.

Tony had never sight fished for spawning Bass so it was fun to teach

a fisherman a few new tricks. We found the first fish in about 2 ft of water

and she was as hot as a spawning fish gets.I anchored the boat 10 ft from

the bed and got Tony in position to see the fish and directed him on where

the little hot spot was at.It only took three cast to the hot spot and Tony

had her hooked up and over the side of the boat came a fat 5 pounder.

The second bed we found with a fish on it was as easy as it gets as Tony

put the tube on the hot spot and caught this fish on the second pitch

this was another fat 3 pounder. The first part of the morning was cloudy

which called for some long cast to scattered pads with a swim bait

and this pattern produced about 7 nice fish to 5 pounds.

Today I had a couple great guy's from Maryland and they were after the big fish

on artificial baits. We were greeted with lite rain and 30 MPH SW winds

along with heavy cloud cover. We started the morning off casting Buzz Baits

around larger pad fields and this produced three fish to 3 pounds. After a couple hrs fishing the buzz baits the guys switched it up and started throwing a swim bait

around the scattered pads and action was a little better with a few misses

and a few fish caught including a SKINNY 9 pounder caught by Mike.

This fish had a hard spawn as she was really beat up and thin.

The next few hrs was slow with a few fish caught on spinner baits

and Brian lost the fish of a lifetime that crushed his spinner bait on the edge of

the pads then jumped and came unbuttoned.

A total of ten fish to 9 pounds were caught which was not bad for the weather conditions we had to deal with all day.

BASS CHALLENGER GUIDE SERVICE NOW HAS USA CUSTOM ROD

CAMO STIX'S AND GUIDELINE POLARIZED EYEGEAR IN STOCK.

I feel so strongly about the fine products these companies produce

I became a Retail Dealer for both.We are still working on the website

but we do have some products already on line at www.basschallenger.com.

It takes two major things to catch Trophy Spawning Bass here in Florida!!!

Good Polarized Eyegear to see the fish and a Tough Rod to bring them over

the side of the boat.I think the Bass Challenger Trophy Bass Pages prove both

of these products Work Very Well.
