The "Miss Beach Haven" from the Beach Haven Charter Fishing Association fished over the Memorial Day weekend with a nice crowd on board. The nice weather made for an enjoyable trip for all with decent sea bass action. The first stop in 60-feet of water resulted in some shorts and a few keepers. When they got to 70-feet, the fishing was better but a drop off from earlier in the week. Only several anglers ended with over 10 fish each, but virtually all anglers took home some fish. On Memorial Day the boat loaded up on jumbo bass from 1-3 pounds. Most of the regular anglers had catches in the high teens. Pool winner was Kelsey Whittaker from the Pocono's. The association is seeking applicants for its "Junior Mates Program." Anyone over the age of 13 wishing to become trained as a mate is welcome. Additional information can be found at on the association's website www.fishbeachhaven.com or by calling Captain John Koegler at 609-290-3349.
