Well folks, just because I haven't been posting doesn't mean that I haven't been out. I have been swamped with trips and was just out of town for a few days for one of my own tournaments. Which didn't go to well. Yesterday I got out after having my boat to the shop to fix some problems with my trim, my motor was stuck up but it ended up bing a minor problem and it was only a switch. After they finally got me on my way he told me to go and run it and make sure that they had it all worked out which means I just can't put the boat in without fishing so I went and checked out a few areas. The first stop was a bust but the second was on. I caught these 5 in about an hour and lost 3 more that would have greatly improved the best 5. The biggest that I lost was around 6 to 7 lbs. I had just made a cast and was taking a drink of water while my jig was sinking and felt the bite. I threw the water down and set the hooked but the fish jumped and threw the hook. Anyway it was fun.
There are several patterns that are working well right now. If you stay shallow the flipping bite is good along with topwater baits early. Horny toads, spooks, buzzbaits, spinnerbaits and big worms and swimmbaits are producing also. Pretty much everything. The deep crankbait bite is still there but has slowed a bunch for me. Jigs and c- rigs are hot.
Also be sure to stay hydrated if you are out and drink some gatorade or propells along with your water so you can some nutrients back.
I have June 22nd,23rd, 25th 29th and 30th open if anyone wants to book a trip this month.
Good luck and let them go after a quick picture.
