Fishing is very tough for the big fish right now since the cooler weather and rain this week. Prior to the cooler weather and rain we had a decent bite on the swimbait.. Once we get some stabilization in the weather the fish will be much more predictable. Most of the guys I have had with me have wanted to strictly fish swimbaits for big fish which is my favorite kind of trips to do. Granted we don't catch the numbers but usually the size is better. Recently the fish have been on the small side (2lb range) on the swimbaits with only a few decent to good fish being caught. We are seeing alot of followers from 2-3lb fish and not seeing near as many quality fish as we have last month.

As of last week we had a pretty good shad spawn. Lots of 1/4-1/2 inch fry running around. That signals the yearly senko bite to be full bore which I predict to be around the end of September once they reach a little bit bigger size. Usually on the senko bite you can catch good numbers and probably catch 30-50 fish and at times 60+ with the right conditions. Mostly small keepers to 16 inches with an occasional good fish in the mix. I will say that I am getting some fish on the senko as we speak. But overall the fishing has been pretty tough the last week or so.

The pictured fish above was one of good fish caught and it was caught on a Huddleston Deluxe in a Hitch color. Even though the Hudd is the same length as the Triple Trout (8 inches) it's a BIG 8 inch bait and is a whopper weighing in at 5oz. YOu need a real reel and rod for this bait and big boy line (25lb X Rated Triple Fish line) LOL

Some guys on the Allatoona forum wanted me to do a seminar on a multitude of topics pertaining to fishing Allatoona. So I decided to open it up to the public and rent out the Red Top Lodge banquet room. The seminar will be on Oct 7th (Saturday) from 4-8 (arrive 3:30ish). Topics will be Swimbaits on Allatoona, Sonar Interpretation, dropshot, Patterning Largemouth on Toona just to name a few to help everyone get ready for the fall/winter bite. Lots of prizes and donations will be given away. Click on the link for more info and directions to the banquet room.

I have over 80 Lucky Craft baits to hand out, 24lbs of Yamamoto Plastics, Mini Me Spinnerbaits from SOB Lures, Fluorocarbon line from Triple Fish and a big box from Uncle Josh/Bass Stalker Jigs as FREE handouts at the seminar with more in the works.
