Fishing Fort Lauderdale with us today was Amanda, Katy, Candy and four year old Marissa. We had a two boat charter, we were lucky enough to have the lucky ladies and our other boat the Hooked Up with Capt Taco had the boys. Our day started out catching a few live baits off the bow of an anchored freighter, which is always fun for the youngsters, then we put out the trolling spread. We were high speed trolling to try and cover some ground and get the wahoos that have been around to bite. No wahoos for us but the bonitas ate us out of house and home. Once at the wrecks it was hard to fish the one I wanted to due to a dive boat, so we headed to the deeper wreck and put out the spread. we no sooner got the spread out when Candy's bait got jumped by a big "Smoker" king. The big silver missle dumped close to a hundred yards of line before slowing. Candy did an unbelievable job coaxing the fish to the boat where it was gaffed and put on ice. With a box full of bonitas and a huge king in the box as well it was time to head in. What a great half day fishing charter in Fort Lauderdale, I wish we couldve stayed longer.
