Whats Up!!!
Hello again from the island of enchantment.
The fishing this two weeks goes as follow. January 8 to 11, strong trades winds mostly from the east in the 20+ knots and seas 7-9 ft short period making conditions extremely sporty so only inshore was the option. Saturday 12 a strong cold front generated large long period swell 11ft and although there was wind in the 15 to18 knots the seas were nice to fish. Lots of Mahi mahi action and Kimi a Bertram 33 had a nice blue marlin in the 250# range. The scenery stayed the same till tuesday January 15. Wednesday January 16 the wind built up again and as the swell diminished the short period swell came back making conditions sporty but the winds staying under the 20 knots. SST in the trench have fluctuated from 78-80 degrees and water quality has stayed low.
Conditions should get better soon in the North East of PR although the reports from the West and Mona Channel have been hot for the Large Mahi Run 60# bull and cows in the 30# range in numerous amounts have been landed.
till Next Bite
