Today I had the extreme pleasure of guiding Casey and Amanda Wood of Texas, as well as their 5-year-old son Ethan to a non stop fish catching morning.
First stop was at the Katrina Reef where they immediately got into a hot bite of sand sea trout a.k.a. "white trout" and southern kingfish a.k.a. "ground mullet".
By 9 o'clock this Texas trio boated 140 of the tasty bottom dwellers. Offered them a chance at Florida pompano, and the were eager to take a shot at the silver-hued exotics.
However, it was a good call, and Amanda had the hot hand by landing two beautiful pompano, a couple of incredible hard fighting specimens on light tackle. Casey lost a fine fish too, but lost it on a wild junping spree made by the speedy gamester.
Ladyfish were plentiful too, and provided plenty of bonus light tackle fun. With a box full of fish we decided to call it a day, and were back at the D'Iberville Marina by noon.
Just another wonderful day of fishing in south Mississippi. Hey, the fishing is great so come join in on the fun.
