Today I had the pleasure of fishing with Jack and his father Henry. They are both offshore guys and have never done any flats fishing but wanted a taste of the hunt for shallow water fish. The morning started overcast and breezy so we positioned ourselves out of the wind a bit and started our search for Biscayne silver in water less than what their boat drafts. Immediately after jumping onto our first flat of the morning a couple of nice big wakes headed toward us, a sure sign of big fall bonefish. Unfortunately, that opportunity didn't work out. But not longer after, Jack connected and landed his first spunky Biscayne bone. A few spots later and with thunder storms threatening we hurried back to the ramp. One of my great thrills of guiding is when my client on the bow lands his first or biggest of the target species and today was one of those days.
