It was day one fishing with Denny, Jim and Jimmy from the Chicago area. We've fished together in the past and have been fortunate to have some pretty good days on the water...and today was no exception! I knew it was going to be a good morning when I caught a walleye demonstrating the technique that's been triggering these ol' marble eyes. In fact...I caught fish on my first four flips of the jig and half crawler, so that was a good sign. We didn't have much wind to move us around, so I had to use the bowmount to slowly move us while we fan-casted a weedline. The fish were on fire again! The average size of the fish was a little smaller than what we had on Monday, but it was a lot of fun nonetheless. It took a while for the guys to get the hang of it, but pretty soon everybody was catching a few fish. We turned our full day charter into a half day, since we had our 20 fish limit by 10:30 a.m. Denny took four fish to the cabin for their supper tonight, the boys will be eatin' good! A beautiful day on the bay and we only saw two other boats out there. Jim and Jimmy had to run some errands, so it was just Denny and I in the picture. Good luck from all of us in the Bay de Noc area! Oh, by the way, the water temperature is 76 degrees and I had a hard time keeping the fish alive. The best thing might be to put a couple bags of ice in your livewell if heading out there.
