Gulf Stream

Over the radio blue water report

One boat reported that he worked this area and it offered up a slow, slow, and slower bite pattern. A couple of few black fin tuna and dolphin were landed.

Blue Water Suggestions

During this time the western edge of the Gulf Stream once again starts to form. The reason being is that the waters to the inshore have started to cool leaving the Gulf Stream over eighty degrees. In the spring, while western water is warming the Gulf Stream's edge holds the attentions of blue water fish. This is the best place best to find the fish.

With fall season moving in the cooling of the "Western water's edge" (waters to the west of the gulf stream) is taking place. So therefore with all this being said, "it's time to make plans to make a blue water run!" After all someone has to do it, so that we will all know the deal!

Fish as always are looking for something to eat and the edge or any edge is a great place to "look-see-for-food!" The ledges and live bottom areas are also great places to pull those lures of any fashion or style. Formed rips and backwash eddies are also strong bait holding situation to put your rigged lures. Temperature breaks from out of the blue is another reason to drop those baits. The reason being is where you have a break in temperature there is normally bait, which is just about where those big fish are staging.

As far as what to pull and how to fish…this is simple…start out with it all and narrow down to what is getting hits or not! For those that don't want to possibly make a dry run, its not any sort of a sin to stop, drop, and do some vertical jigging on the bottom…believe me you will catch something! It's time to go so that we will all know!
