Fishing has remained solid over the last couple weeks since our last report. We have done very well in Vancouver harbour for some nice quality fish into the mid teens. Our two charters in the last week have produced multiple keepers on both trips. Jeff managed to boat 3 keepers earlier in the week off West Vancouver. The fish were quality ranging from 10 to 15 pounds. I had a trip yesterday(Feb 23rd) with a group from California and they managed to land an 11 pounder and a 14 pounder as well as limit of dungeness crabs. In mix there is also good numbers of undersized in the 19-23 inch range.
We have been finding our quality fish exclusively off West Vancouver and the Cap recently. The Cap Mouth has been consistent right around the high slack tide. As the tide begins to ebb we have hit a few fish off the Pink Palace as well. We have been scheduling our charters to take full advantage of the tides.
The mid harbour has been pretty hit and miss for larger fish. There was a nice fish caught there in the hi teens caught this week by another boat however.
We have found the green glow coyote 4.0 and the purple haze hootchie to be our best producers. We have been fishing in 110 feet of water with the gear between 70ft and 105 ft.
There has also been some good reports up Howe Sound as well.
Good Luck,
Jeff/Jason
