Fishing Thursday July 25th with Pete Heist and his son in law Wes Pickens we started off float fishing with live shrimp in 20 foot of water in the river. Well we stayed there for almost 3 solid hours with the corks going down every drift…
At first we were catching some decent Trout. I think we caught 8 in the 2 pound range. Then the 3 to 4 pound Jacks moved in and it was steady pole bending. One thing about a Jack is they hardly ever miss the hook and they fight very hard.
After about 2 dozen Jacks we hooked the fish of the day. It was a total surprise when I leaned over to net what I was sure was a nice Jack and saw a huge Flounder. When I say huge I mean he was a stud. The Flounder weighed 8 pounds and made the day.
We then moved to the creeks for the last hour and caught 2 Red fish in the 20 inch range and one more Flounder on jigs with minnows. All in all we caught over 40 fish in 4hrs. What a morning!!!
