Thurs 4/1: Well it was a Nice Day to be on the water but fishing left a lot to be desired for us... Light Crew Today... Bob Bates (Da Birthday Boy) Eric the Mortgage Man, and Stellios....Headed Out looking to see if any blackfish would cooperate... Got setup in around 90ft... Had a Few Blackfish Bites and we landed a couple shorts and a keeper... But that was it... current was screaming too...Went a Little Deeper had some action with some Cod but the only problem was that they were all short... Same story the next couple spots... Short cod... prob around a couple dozen... Few More short Blackfish and a Handfull of ling for the day...Ended the day in 80ft and we had some life but again all short blackfish and the gizzies were fierce...Slow Day of Fishing... but better days a coming (Soon i Hope) Hopefully the warm weather will get the Blackfish biting again. Was Nice to see so many small cod locally...Happy Birthday Bob Bates!!! We had a nice Cake at the Dock for Him (thanks Mike) and His daughter surprised him by pre-paying for his trip as a gift!!! Fri 4/2:-Sailed an Open boat Bottom Trip.... Fishing was still slow... Water was still Dirty in 60 - 90 ... cleaner in 90-120 but the bite wasnt any better... Managed a few short Blackfish... some short cod and a couple of keeper cod.... Highlight was Bob bates double header cod Both keeper Sam Bear Landed the other... The guys knew fishing was slow but everyone wanted to get out and wet a line with the nice forecast... weather was a perfect 10!!!! Thanks Guys
Sat 4/3: Had Rons (Aka Lefty Reeler) Charter along with the Gang... Day Started Out Damp and Fog and stayed that way all day ( sunny and 70 ) Dales529 Started us off with a Cod and then a nice Keeper Blackfish... set and waited a little but no More fish just a couple of scratches... Bounced around but wasnt much life at all... SLOW...Couple of short cod...water still dirty and a strong current up into the wind didnt help.... Next stop steve the shrimpman managed a Keeper Blackfish and we boxed up 3 cod and a couple of short cod got tossed back but that was it... Even tried inshore but that was no good either... 3 pack day.... Even though fishing was very slow the guys had no shortage of choping bustin and laughs to go along with the Great food... 3 pack day Thanks Guys!!!
Hopefully coming off the moon, getting some cleaner water, and warm temps the tog will start to chew... some fish getting caught to the south of us... so it shouldnt be long.
