Windy and COOOOLD!!! That's the conditions in North Florida right now. I will say that after this first true cold snap the fish should really start feeding…

The big Trout are not in full swing yet in the areas I usually catch them but the conditions haven't been exactly stellar. When it gets colder the smaller Trout will settle in for the winter. That is when I start throwing the white and green plastics. You want catch a lot of big Trout but you will catch a lot of them.

The larger Reds are still a little picky but there are plenty of Rat Reds to keep the pole bending and the Flounder fishing has been decent at best but should bust loose anytime.

On a gigging trip this past Sunday morning the 26th it was about like it has been except we were able to get a nice mess of fish. We still had to move quite a bit trying to find clean enough water to see in. The first chance I get to gig some clean water it's going to be lights out!!!

I have 2 charters this week and hopefully the wind will be nice to us. I will be back next week with some good reports hopefully.

Area Reporting: Jacksonville, North East Florida

Bio: Being a native of Northeast Florida I have enjoyed the excellent fishing and wildlife this area has to offer. I have been fishing the Jacksonville Florida area over 30 years with many a memorable fishing trip starting when I was a kid. We are in between and only minutes away from Amelia Island and St. Augustine, we can enjoy the fishing any direction. From downtown to the mouth of the ocean and all the back water in between.
