July 29, 2006: Today we had a charter for peter and the boys from nyc for a 1/2 day fluke trip. We fished the tin can grounds for super action on fluke ,only one problem shorts and more shorts with just a few keepers. These regs with the 18 inch rule is a real joke and if you think that is bad just wait to 2007 when we really won`t be able to keep any fluke. The fishery management people are a real joke and i would like to know how they base there information. Soon we will be fishing for skates and searobins . Lets not forget how they are so proud of themselves that they actually gave an award to the lady who saved the dogfish. The whole management of fisheries is totally screwed up.I would like to know how NJ can keep 8 fish at 16.5 inches and we can keep 4 at 18 inches and we are basically fishing the same waters. On the other hand the same goes for the blacks,we can keep 10 and they can keep 8 at a certain time and then 4.Where do they come up with this crap.

July 27, 2006: TUES P.M) This evening we had a charter for Ralph and the boys from bensonhurst for a night of bass and weaks. We started off the night with the parachutes and it was slow , we did get one 8 lb weakfish on the troll and a few short bass. We then switched over to the worming and only caught a few more short bass .

(Thurs a.m) Today we had a charter for styx and friends from new jersey for a day of seabass fishing. We fished to the south today hitting several different pieces and picked away at all of the drops .We had action all day between the keepers and shorts. We also had a few nice blacks (released). The total for the day was 75 keepers and 50 or so shorts up to 4 lbs with a bunch of 2 lb fish .

July 23, 2006:

(AM TRIP): Capt.Cliff ran the striped bass/seabass charter today for Tony & the boys from Westchester. The day started off with striper parachuting, catching a few keeper stipers and releasing several shorts. There were also a few bluefish in the mix. After striper fishing they went bottom fishing, catching 25 keeper seabass (3 of them in the 3-lb range), and releasing loads of short seabass and blackfish.

July 16, 2006:

PM TRIP: We had a tuna/tile charter for First Fishing Tackle of Queens. We put out the trolling gear for the tuna when we hit the tip of the Canyon and trolled up to where we were going to tile fish .We saw no life out there, nor did we have any bites. When we reached where we were tile fishing we pulled the lines in and and droped down for the them. Capt. Cliff ran the trip and he managed over 60 tile fish for 6 anglers and the average fish was 10 lbs. Most of the fish were caught on squid with a few taken on clams. I bet if we did not waste time with the troll we would have had over 100 tiles. It was a great trip and plan to do more in the near future.

(AM trip) Today we had an open boat fluke trip and fished several spots from the Tin Can Grounds to Gravesend Bay and the results are the same shorts, shorts and more shorts. It is horrible what is going on this year for the fluke in these waters. The 18 inch rule is killing us. If the fluking does not improve it looks like we will have to target seabass on a daily basis.OH-yeah and by the way we did not even get one keeper today,it is starting to get very frustrating.
