Well, it looks like we are so far behind on our fishing reports that this is more of a mid-season review. I look at it this way though, if we had time to constantly update the site, that would mean that we weren't out fishing - and that certainly hasn't been the case!

This past June was one of the best months from a sheer numbers standpoint that we've ever seen. There were literally acres of Stripers spread across Cape Cod Bay every day. It was nothing short of fantastic - really the type of fishing that spoils you. The Bluefin even showed up early this year, and we started that out great as well with our first Tuna charter of the year taking a 175lb fish. Most all the tuna this year have been 64" - 70" and are really pushing the stand-up tackle to the limits.

The first week of July brought us back to reality a bit, as fishing really slowed for both Bass and Tuna. The Full moon really cooled things off, but luckily, as the moon waned, fishing picked up each day.

This past week, the Striper fishing was back on and absolutely fantastic. We limited out our last 8 Bass charters, with fish up to 45"/33lbs. Outstanding fishing, and we were able to do it all on the Tube and worm. No wire necessary, which really made things fun for our customers. We were even able to take a good number of fish on surface plugs, throwing the new "lunker punker" spooks from BlackDog baits. Great times for all.

Saturday was an especially fun trip, as Stu Glassman and his family (with Loren of course) came out with us again - this time looking for Tuna. After about and hour of trolling and a couple of swing and misses, we came tight and Stu's son jumped on the rod. After about a 45 min fight with one of the angrier tuna I've seen in a while, we put a 65"/175lb fat Bluefin in the boat. After a fun celebration everyone decided on Bass fishing, as I don't think anyone on board needed that kind of abuse again. Luckily, the Stripers were right where we left them the day before, and we finished off a great day with another 6 or 8 keepers and a few nice blues.

All in all, this is certainly a great season, and we are enjoying every minute of it!

Good luck out there,

Captain Don and the Laura-Jay Crew
