After 3 days at the dock, today was like starting all over. The anticipation didn't last long. As we came around the hook, saw a mile of birds working in the channels...3 area's of life! Put the boat on a drift, had fish on right away, mostly small, some tiny fish. Caught 3 keepers after 3 drifts. Move off to the East on the next bunch, still small fish..and not many blues. Got cocky and broke the golden rule "never leave fish to look for fish" told the guys we'd go try to find some keepers. Ran 4 miles to the south to the next good shot of life, glad we did, non-stop action the rest of the day! Some very nice keepers and loads of 20 to 27 inch fish. Best day jigging so far this season....On another note, the all and knowing, Pat Kirkel, has stated that 2 Fluke at 19 inches probably won't be enough to solve the problem with the shortage of Fluke and is calling for more drastic measures!!! I feel like I'm in the twilight zone! Don't they realize that any credabilty left is going out the window? Know one is going to listen to anything these people have to say, instead of repecting any kind of law, people are going to do whatever it takes to survive. They are creating a monster that will cause more harm than good in the long run. I watched 3 good boats go out of business because of 19 inch fish in NY....bet your Ass, that's not happining to me!!! Push a man too far and even the meek will push back!!! If your sick of it..send those donations to SSFFF. If you think it's a joke, sit back and do nothing, maybe you will enjoy bluefishing all summer!!! Capt.ron
