Casting For Shrimp
During this time there is plenty of opportunity to catch your own live shrimp as bait. Not only that, but you could even catch a few for that special afternoon shrimp cocktail. Captain Jack McGowan's report was a solid as it could get.
According to the report the mud flats, backs of creek, and sloughs are great places to throw the cast net. Captain Jack suggest picking an area that you have cast before or one that you have seen others fishing. He suggests making a few casts and if you aren't having any luck move about ' of a mile and give it another try. On some casts he caught few and on others he caught a pint to a quart at the time. It all about moving and finding the area where they are holding. The bottom line is it's not suggested to stay too long in one spot if you are not catching anything!
