We have all our rentals out in the bay. We are catching walleye and jumbos in the bay as good if not better than anywhere on the lake right now!
Some big fish are being caught! With some nice eaters too!Tipups with small shiners or large fatheads with a red number #4 hook is doing well, along with a small jig and crappie minnow head. Getting some nice fish on the rattle reels during the night now too!
We have 12 to 14 inches in the bay and letting people drive only in the bay. We have a bridge over one crack and their is still some iffy ice out past the bay around Doe Island. We are being cautious because of the warm weather and light rain again last night. There is no water on the ice though.
I was out yesterday guiding with a fella from Missouri. We did well on both perch and walleye. And last night we caught nine walleyes and kept 3 nice fish. 12 to 24 ft of water is where we found these fish.
I talked to Suzy up at Fishers this morning. The fish are starting to go up there too. Suzy says that they are getting some nice perch and some walleyes in 18 to 22 ft of water. Greg is letting people drive out only to two mile. 12 to 14 inches out in their area. They have their rentals out and ready for your use too!
Most of the resorts on the east side are letting people drive out this weekend to disignated areas only! I caution everyone though to stay in the ares where the resorts have marked roads only. Venture off these roads and you could get in trouble. The resorts have alot of time on this lake and know the day to day conditions and areas where to go and not to go. Please take care of the resorts for their efforts to get you on and off the lake safely.
Lets have some fun this weekend and catch some fish but be safe while doing it!!!
Fish On!!!
