Out with Bob W today. The fishing was spectacular. We started in close in 30' of water using Tuff-Core sand eel imitations and Spro jigs. We landed some nice fish in the 32"-36" range. As the tide picked up, things just kept getting better. There were terns, gulls and gannets wheeling and diving as far as you could see. We would set a drift and catch five or six fish before having to reset. We moved a little further offshore where there was a really big concentration of birds. The depth was 110 feet and we were marking huge fish at 40-50 feet. The sand eel imitations didn't get down quickly enough and the fish were following the Spros but not taking them. Bob tied on a big Tsunami swim shad and dropped it over the side. After a ten count he began to reel and found he was tight to a BIG fish. A nice 38" soon came over the gunwale. I tied one on and we had double headers for a solid hour. The fish were agressive, 36-42 inches and covered with lice. We must have been at about 40 fish before we had to stop for a breather. What a great day. We left them biting
