Chase N' Tails Fishing Charters.
With the constant cold fronts and strong winds has made for tough fishing and trying to plan
your days can be a challenge the weather man will call for 10 knots and once you reach the boat ramp the winds are 15-20 knots but if you can brave the winds the fishing is pretty good. The night before a fishing trip i will make a game plan look and see what the tides are doing and the moon phase & the boromater can help you out in your day of fishing. The redfish are way back into the creeks and around near by springs. The way i fish for reds in winter is i will get jumbo shrimp rip off the tail and use a 2/0 circle hook and hook the shrimp from the bottom up through the tail end of the shrimp doing this you will get further distance in your cast and you are also putting sent into the water. Ther are tons of mullet in the back country and i have been seeing the reds right in the mix of them i went out yesterday and we caught alot of redfish from 24-30" right in these schools of mullet. Trout
are in the same areas as the redfish and in shallow grass flats 1-2 feet of water i do the same thing for the trout as i do for the reds. The sheepshead and black drum are all over the place look for rocks, oyster bars, and muddy bottom has been holding them as well. A small 1/0 J hook and a pice of shrimp will do the trick. The fish are bitting so give Capt. Josh a call and lets catch some fish on the crystal clear water of the Nature Coast.
