Chase N' Tails Fishing Charters
Well old man winter just will not let up for us anglers on the Nature Coast. With cold front after cold front picking your day to go fishing
can be a challenge in its self just make sure you look at the wind speed wind direction and wave height before you go out. But when you can make it out look for warmer water tempature the best places is around the near by springs. The springs pump out 72 degree water all year long and winter time they are a hot spot literally. The best
action has been black drum, sheepshead, and redfish. For the black drum and sheepshead i would use a small hook like a 1/0 and a small shrimp fish the deeper holes for these fish. The redfish are still in shallow water 10-18 inches on muddy bottom they are laying in this mud to keep warm find the mullet and the reds are right in the mix of them. I would use a 2-3/0 circle hook and a large shrimp pinch the tail off for scent hook the shrimp through the tail and let the bait soak dont move it just let it soak the reds will smell the bait and come to you the reds
are 18-30 inches. Trout season will reopen on March 1st so target the creeks and shallow grassy bottom 1-4 feet keep moving untill you get a
bite cover alot of ground to find the trout start off with a popping cork with 2 feet of 15 to 20 suffix leader and a Berkley Gulp shrimp on a 1/8 oz jig head then once you locate the trout you can free line shrimp or on a cork. I hope this cold weather will end soon and once it does the water will warm up quickly and the fishing is going to be AWESOME so book your trip and lets catch some BIG fish.
