Steelhead fishing on the Chetco River in Brookings, Ore., has been good, with a mix of hatchery and wild fish.

Pro guide Andy Martin of Wild Rivers Fishing (www.wildriversfishing.com) says he's been averaging a couple of fish a day, with a few days with five or six fish mixed in.

The Chetco has been getting plenty of rain and conditions have been good. The river is crowded on weekends.

Side-drifting small roe cluster with pink or orange puff balls has worked best.

The Culvert Hole, Pepperwood and Pete's Place have all been hot spots.

Fishing should continue to be good into March since we've been getting lots of rain.
