Fishing Report, Lake Guntersville 10/21/07
The cloudy skies improved the fishing this past week; we had good numbers on several trips and good quality most of the week. The big guy blessed us this past week with some rain, cloudy skies and a little wind. All this combined along with the slow migration of the bass to the fall feeding frenzy in the back coves helped make this past week fairly successful.
The top water bite proved to be the numbers catcher, and the spinner bait (Punishers Ghost color) proved to be the big fish producer for my clients. The scattered grass is holding the bait and hence the active fish, and most of the week when we found both we caught the bass fairly well.
I fished up river most of the week above Goose Pond where the grass seems to be the most productive. The grass is dying off and creating holes for the baitfish to hide in and hence the bass are right there with them.
As we approach the last week of October and the beginning of November my schedule opens up and I have several available dates for fishing.
