Sal Mattino

Hello again from St. Lucie Sportfishing Charters.

Our trip starts out with the search for live bait. The live bait has been almost non-existent! We started out at the one mile bouy with no successat all. Then we tried as far north as the Black Condo's.No bait to be found.

We managed to put only six live baits in the well, which tunred out to be enough for the day. The bite was scarce!Monitoring the radio was not help. After five solid hours of searching for a bite,we mangaged to hook up to a nice Cobia. The fight lasted about 10-15 minutes with the Angler doing a good job of keeping the fish from winning the battle.A successful landing of the fish with a few photos and it was released unharmed.

After exhausting the bait well,we relied on some trolled ballyhoo with the naked type getting more strikes than the ballyhoo with colored shirts.A nice King fish of about 15 pounds was caught & released at boat side. Also caught was a large Spanish Mackeral in the range of 3-5 pounds. We had a few missed and/or short strikes to end the day! That's my report from St. Lucie Sportfishing Charters. I am Capt. Sal,visit us at www.profishingcharters.com.Fish Hard,Boat Safe!
