We left the dock to a gentle swell. Ocean Runner was heading northeast to the western edge of Stelleagon Bank. After an hour of running at 24 knots, Captain Brian slowed the boat. It took him only a few minutes to spot a pile of Cod on the bottom. He gave the "Go Ahead, Drop Them". Within minutes Ocean Runner had 10 keeper Cod over 30" in the boat. Over the next hour or so, Capt Brian kept the Ocean Runner over this pile of fish. With six people fishing it didn't take long for the fishbox to become full. After loading the boat with Cod, Captain Brian move Ocean Runner to deeper water for some Haddock action. This proved to be spectacular. Silver bullets (Haddock) came over the rail at a lightning pace. After filling a couple of tote with Haddock, it was time for lunch and to gear up for the afternoon. The afternoon was a little slower. The charter didn't mind, as it gave them time to try different types of new gear for the 2008 season. The boat ride in was exciting. Captain Brian pointed out different types of marine life on Stellwagon Bank. Capt. Brian spotted a couple of Right Whales. The charters was excited as these are on the endangered list. So, if you want an exciting day on the water. Give Capt. Brian a call at 774-229-6578 or email him at oceanrunnercharters.com for a "Great Day on the Water".
