Man we have had some cold weather for November in Jacksonville Florida. You can expect some cold fronts and a little wind this time of year but not the record cold we have had.
It has already put the smaller Trout in the bunch up mode!!! When you find them in some of the deeper water all you have to do is bump soft plastics off the bottom and you can catch all the 13 to 17 inch Trout you want.
The key is to move it as slow as you can and then slow it down even more. A lot of times they want get the hook the first time but if you let the plastic fall right back down they will get it again.
I picked up my clients from down town last Thursday for a 4 hour trip. My plan was to run down the river to an area where I have been catching some nice Flounder but because the fog was so thick I decided to fish the area I grew up fishing that was right in the down town area.
I haven't fished down that way in quite a few years but was certain I could come up with some fish on the docks and bulk heads…
I wasn't surprised to get into some nice Red fish but I had no idea the large mouth Bass were still in that part of the river.
Thanks to the fog I fished an area that I had forgotten about and it worked out great.
We caught 3 Large Mouth Bass and 6 Red fish in the same little cove and then moved to the docks and caught at least 15 small Trout on soft plastics. It was a great morning and I never got much over an idle!!!!
Thanks for a great time
