Back to the cold weather once again in North Florida. It will have to stay warm soon enough! One thing that hasn't been cold is the fishing despite what seems like weekly fronts.
The Drum are starting to show up in good numbers which is a little early for them. There is also an abundance of Blue fish in the 3 pound range and I'm starting to catch a few Flounder on my charters. That means it might be about time to dust off the Gigging lights!!!
This past Friday the 27th fishing with Jerry Cross and his friend John we were a day before this cold front that is on us now and the fishing was great…
We were fishing the last 3hrs of an incoming tide so I headed north to a spot to do some float fishing. This area is good for Trout but it sometimes produces several different kinds of fish which is always nice.
We spent the whole 4hr trip in that spot catching Trout to 3 pounds nice 4 pound Drum a few decent Flounder and all the 3 pound Blue fish you could stand. I was starting to wonder if I would run out of live shrimp before we were thru…
What a great morning and when we were done I had about 10 shrimp left. That's a little to close for me.
Thanks for a great time guys
