March 14 2007 The Salmon run on The Columbia river is starting to pick up. The bite has been hit and miss but as we move into March it's looking up, it should peek in mid April. The State has a target closer date of April 15th but it is on a quota system and can change. The best bit has been trolling herring or anchoring up with kwikfish or spinners. The lower river is influenced by the tide so check your tide book.
