Fishing report for the week ending 11/7/09 with several windy days this week the fish in the open water will get a break, north and east winds make running in open water a task and fishing worse. On the days the wind was light the grass and pothole areas inside the passes have produced lots of mackeral, trout, bluefish and big ladyfish freelinning shinners or jigs are the best bet. If you get a chance a ride into the Gulf on light wind days have made for great Bonito fishing, look for the birds and the Bonito jumping like the water was boiling. These fish pound for pound are one of the best. There are a good number of snook and jacks in the river which is a great place to fish on the windy days, deeper shorelines and canals are holding good numbers of fish. Redfish were slower this week due to the wind but they are still around on the open flats. This weather should change the fishing pattern from live bait to plasics and plugs which work even better under the right conditions.By wednesday we will need to pay attention to the tropical storm in the gulf, this is November right?Tight lines get out and fish!
