Smith Lake

April 16th, 2013

It's been a roller coaster week, with some bad days and some great days. Things look to be moving in the right direction. We slammed them on topwater and pulling live bait with both planner boards and in-line floats. While most lakes striper have already made a push for shallow water. It's just starting on Smith Lake, with the stripes main push still to come. Every fish were catching is fat and feeding up. Not to mention you cooler will have plenty milk like substance in it. There so close, these next couple of weeks should be some fantastic fishing. We're catching some shallow but we are also catching them schooling over water as deep as 100 feet close or on the main channel. Topwater and live bait using planner boards or in-line floats have been the most productive ways to catch fish. Checkout my website for more info and pictures www.striper247smithlake.com or www.fishing24-7guideservice.com. I have very few opening in April and with night fishing picking up there will be even fewer spot. I still have a couple weekend spaces open in May so give me a call and I'll be happy to go over the dates and time I have available.
