I would just like to say hello to everyone and I hope you all had a great winter. I am just back from Costa Rica where I had an incredible time catching Sailfish in the 100+ class, Wahoo, Mahimahi and Blue Marlin up to 250 pounds. Spring is here back in CT and I am very excited about the upcoming fishing season. The Kingfisher is in the water and ready to go. We will be making our first trips to Montauk for those big doormat fluke that show up early May. Late May/early June brings in huge schools of Striped Bass into the Long Island Sound area. These migrating fish are feeding heavily and the action can be non-stop. Fluke and Bluefish also migrate in this time of year. Mid to late June Hickory Shad and Bunker move into the area and provide incredible bait for the Trophy sized Striped Bass that are following them. These big baitfish hang around the area until October which allows our customers a nice long "live bait" fishing season in our area of the sound. A typical full day trip with Kingfisher Charters will put you on Fluke, Stripers, and Bluefish all in the same day. Half day trips are also available for groups to get in on the great fishing in the Mystic, CT area.
