Fishing still slow, but showing signs of picking up. With the influx of "new" water coming into the lake, and the temp. coming up a few degrees, the fish are starting to wake-up. The wind will raise a little Hell on you in the morning, so find a cove to sit it out till it dies down (around 7:30 A.M.). We went to Potters Ravine for this and found it to be a good choice. Drop shotting still had zero results, but the tubes,Senkos, and spoon jigging worked fairly well. Fish are supended from 25' to 35' over deep cover. This is where the "Thermal line" is located right now. Look for under water "humps" off shore for "Darthead" fishing with 1/8 to 1/4 oz. heads using lt. green, peral, or white singal tail grubs.

For Senko action, try the back of inlets in the 15' to 25' range. Please note that "dead sticking" a Senko or simular stick bait takes time. Don't get in a big hurry with these baits, you'll just be wasting your time. Fish 50' to 100' back from any water coming into the lake, and you'll have a blast catching "slot" fish. "Go deep for more meat". The larger fish are still deep, and by using spoons,Castmasters, or slow falling jigs you can pick them up. Use lt. line (6 to 8 lb.) fast taper tipped rods and pay attension to the "feel" of your rod.

When you feel the rod start to "load-up" Reel set the fish, don't try to jerk their lips off, you'll lose more than you boat. The bite is still real lite and the fish are just putting the bait in their mouth, not slamming and swallowing. If your having problems understanding any of the terms I use, check with your local tackle shop. These people make their living helping people learn the art of fishing, and with the 10 to 20 more penneys you'll spend, you'll receive dollars & dollars worth of knowledge (no big chain can do this). Reminder to "catch and release" your bass.

Good Hunting,
