Fort Lauderdale Fishing on Happy Day Today with Capt. Zsak
"Born to fish, forced to work." Five buddies, three amateur golfers and two college students from different parts of the states, got together for a deep sea charter fishing Fort Lauderdale FL trip aboard the Happy Day Today along with the Topshotfishing team. The fellows were still partying having mimosas for breakfast before going fishing.
As we left the dock, clearing the jetties, large schools of Mullet were in the Fort Lauderdale inlet, with schools of Tarpon and other predators feeding on them. With fall upon us now, the migration of large schools of Mullets has started migrating down the coast past Fort Lauderdale. In return our predators, such as Sailfish, Sharks, Cobias, etc. will start their migration south too.
The first few fish caught were Bonitos in the 10-15 lbs. class. No food value but fun to catch as they are in the Tuna family and fight very hard and are excellent for making Bonito strips for bait, which Sailfish love to feed on. The boys kept drinking their beers and fighting the fish at the same time, never letting go of their cans of beers. As we trolled in and out over the drop off in Fort Lauderdale FL, we caught Kingfish, Barracudas and more Bonitos.
With all happy anglers on board the boat telling their war stories of golfing and college parties, it was time to head back to the dock at Bahia Mar 801 Seabreeze Blvd. Fort Lauderdale 33316.
