Today for Super bowl Sunday 5 brothers that are taking their dad Walter out fishing for his 70th B Day. The brother are Chris and David from Millbrook, Mike from New Jersey, Mark from Jacksonville Florida and Ted from Boston.
I must admit that I took off and while I was not on this trip I do know that the Birthday Guy did catch a big sailfish.

Feb 8
Today we had Jeff and Kathy out for a few hour of deep-sea fishing aboard the Hooked Up off the coast of Fort Lauderdale.
We set out our kites with 3 live baits and one dead shark bait all suspended from the kites. We also set out a shark bait down 150 feet and last but not least a bottom bait 350 feet down.
Our first bite turned out to be a 4-foot remora. This has to be one of the biggest remoras we've ever caught.
Than all of a sudden one of our shark rods bent over and all hell broke lose. We were Hooked Up with a big sea monster.
After a 30 min back and forth tug a war up popped this 7-foot hammerhead shark.
We were able to get 2 out of the 3 hooks out of him and watched him swim away in great shape.

Feb 10
Today we had one of our regular customers Mart from Sweden along with two of his good friends Kristina and Margus.
We started out dropping a live bait down on a ship wreck and BAM we were Hooked Up. Margus jumped in the chair and up came a big amber jack. We got a couple quick photos and released him.
Ok so it worked once so we tried it again and again BAM we were Hooked Up. This time Mart jumped in the chair and again another nice amber jack comes up.
Ok so now we had the skunk out of the box so we started tolling the reef catching bonitos and a few black fin tunas.
We fished the rest of the trip trying to catch a big shark or a sailfish but sorry to say we never did see ether.

Feb 12
Today we had Dwayne, Barbra, and Travis from Houston Texas and Alan from Richmond Virginia.
We picked up a dozen live goggle eyes (live baits) from the bait boat and went right out to 180 feet of water and set out both kites with two live baits in each kite. Ok the trap was set and now all we needed was for some big hungry fish to come along.
We waited and waited and waited no bites (RATS). I had heard of a couple of sailfish being caught but it seemed everything I had heard of on the VHF radio was in a lot shallower water.
So I let the wind push us into about 100 feet of water and just let the current continued to slide us up to the north. Soon enough we were drifting pass a ship that has been anchored up here for about a week now. Just as our baits were drifting past the bow of this ship up popped this sailfish and we were Hooked Up.
Ok so we had Dwayne in the chair and this sailfish jumping all over the place right next to the ship. We had to somehow get this fish away from the ship before we get cut off. But the more I tried to drag him away the more line we were losing. Then the line went slack and the fish was gone. (@$&#^&*$^&%&*)
Ok time to get the baits back out there! This time the wait was not quite so long and before we knew it here comes another sail and once again we were Hooked Up. This time Travis jumped in the chair and the fight was on.
It was a good 20 min till finally Travis had his sailfish next to the boat.

Feb 13
Today we had Martin from Manhattan Ney York chartered the boat by himself looking to catch a sailfish or a big shark.
So we picked up a few baits from the live bait boat and went right out to kite fishing along with a couple shark baits down deep.
All of a sudden our deep shark rod bent over and line started screaming off the reel. Martin jumped in the chair and the fight was on. It was a back and forth tug a war for a good 30 min till finally a worn out hammer head shark popped up. J.J. was able to grad the leader and slide 7-foot hammerhead shark into the boat. We got the hooks out of his mouth to a couple quick photos and watched him swim away in good shape.
