England Invades Cape Cod, Again...

It had to be early April when I got an e-mail from a Tom Preston. He was going to be visiting his son in Rhode Island in June and wanted to get in on some early summer bass fishing. He had seen my web site and was interested in using some of my real light tackle on these fish. I answered him by telling him to contact me when he got to this country and we'd set something up. You see, Tom Preston is from England.
Well two days ago I was cleaning the boat after a trip when I heard someone call my name. There was a definite accent to his voice. It was Mr. Preston. He had decided to drive up and find me. Well, we set up a date, which was today, and we went fishing. Tom wanted to use nothing but light gear so that's what we started out with. However, part way into the full day trip it was very obvious that we needed to use an umbrella rig on wire to hook up on the fish we had found. So, we did. In less than a minute we had a good size bass in the boat. But this was not the light gear he wanted to use.
I set out my real light jigging gear and we started hooking up. All these bass were undersized, but it was still a blast taking them on the light gear. After using this for a while we moved to another area and set out my 12 lb. test lead core setup. It wasn't long before Tom had a fish on, a big fish, a really big fish. A 40 inch bass came over the rail. By the time we started home in he had landed 5 more fish of decent size. We headed back to Rock Harbor with the two fish Tom had decided to keep and his pictures of all the other fish. Cape Cod had been officially invaded by an Englishman, again.
