Snook have been moving inside as they migrate to the flats from the beaches, and days of up to 30 snook have been very common lately. These linesiders are running the edges of flats as they feed heavily on baitfish moving on and off the flats with the tides.
Redfish are still schooling strong and early morning hours have proved to be a gold mine for some of the best sight fishing opportunities yet this year on big Redfish.
Bigger Sea Trout are on the flats in the early and late day, when the sun is rising and falling making for some great topwater action. Smaller trout can be targeted all day.
There are still tons of Snapper around the area on virtually any piece of structure. Sun Coast Kayak Sport Fishing clients have been seeing great numbers of big Mangrove Snapper up to 3# within the bays.
It is time for the Upper Keys to really start heating up, as the water temperatures begin to cool down. On two trips down into the upper Keys this past week, Sun Coast Kayak Sport Fishing clients experienced some great action for Bonefish as they combined for 9 "Gray Ghosts" along the Atlantic flats. Other catches included some nice Permit, plenty of Sharks, big Barracuda, Snappers and even a couple shots at small Tarpon.
