Luckily we made it through Hurricane Irma with very little damage. The Tampa Bay and Clearwater areas are back to normal and the fall fishing is heating up quick. Typically big storms like that tend to jumpstart the fishing and this year it did just that. The mullet run turned on like a switch and the redfish, snook and tarpon are all on their tails.
As we get into October, I expect the fishing to continue to get better and better each day. As I read through my captain’s journal from last year, I can see we crushed the redfish, sheepshead, snook and trout in October 2016. By keeping a journal with tides, wind conditions, moon phase, etc, I am able to dial in the fishing trends for my customers daily which is a huge advantage. Also by fishing daily I typically know the the fish, where they are and what they are eating.
Now is a great time to book your trip to get in on some excellent fishing and weather. All my charters are child-friendly for all levels and ages. We are entirely inshore, which means you don’t have to worry about getting seasick or rough seas.
I have several dates still available in October and November. If you would like to experience inshore fishing in the Tampa/Clearwater with me, please give me a call to book your adventure.
Tight Lines,
Captain Woody Gore
