I had chance to do some friendly fishing this past Fri with my ole pal Scott Beard of Ft. Lauderdale and it turned out to be a great day on the water! Early morning found lots of baby tarpon rolling all over the flats near the channel and ofcourse had to bust out my favorite baby tarpon fly the Gurgler. Scott hooked up instantly with just a few strips of the fly.

Afterwards we ran to another spot looking for some Redfish and seatrout action and we weren't disappointed. We found Redfish almost instantly and one cruised right in front of the skiff just before I jumped on the platform! I switched over to a brown and orange Redfish toad pattern which produced good results with both the Reds and Seatrout and Snook too!

As the winds picked up and cloud cover started to block visibility we decided to call it a day. Fish can be found out front all year round and yes that means Fall and Winter too you just have to pick your days as the winds start to pick up! That's my report for now hope everyone is catching em up, talk to ya soon.............Capt. Joe!

Bio: About the Captain! Capt. Joe Costadura has been fishing the waters of South Florida since the age of 4! Starting out catching Bluegills and Bass in the lake behind his Grandmothers house, and then catching his first Snook at age 8, by that time his parents knew he was hooked and bought him his first serious outfit, and old Pflueger Spinning rod combo! By the time he was in high school he was fishing the piers and bridges of South Fla for Snook and Tarpon, and soon after picking up a flyrod for the first time, he hasn't put it down since! When his old childhood friend bought a flats boat and they took to exploring the Bonefish flats of Biscayne Bay the adventure really began! Since then he has concentrated most of his free time fishing the flats and backcountry of Biscayne Bay, the Florida Keys, and Everglades National Park a.k.a Flamingo! Now he is very happy sharing the knowledge and passion for the sport of saltwater flats fly and light tackle angling he has aquired over the years to all of his clients and making sure that their time on the water fishing from Biscayne Bay to the Florida Keys and Flamingo is just as memorable as his was!
