Left the dock at Winke's Landing on Catawba Island around 7:00am. Headed NE 16-18 miles and fished two reefs in Canadian waters of Lake Erie, just across the border. Wind was from the West at 7-9 knots, slowly turning to the SW. Waves 1-2 feet. Beautiful morning and the water clarity cleaned up nicely as we approached the border.

Several of the guys fishing with me today were tournament Bass fisherman and they were casting Rapala Deep Tail Dancers, in a Perch or Fire Tiger finish with excellent results. Two guests and I fished with a 3/4 oz. weapon, #4 Colorado, deep cupped gold blade and that worked nicely as well. Finished the day with 36 Walleye, most were 3-6 pounds, with two fish over 28" We were done fishing at noon.

Casted out near the reef, cranked the bait down, then paused for a one or two count, then crank ahead, then stop. The lure during the stop counts actually backs up, simulating a fish riding the currents that abound around Pelee. Worked like a charm :)

Fished using a stop-and-go technique with Rapala Tail Dancers on Sunday.
