Mike Schildgen his daughter Noel her friend Shannon and Mike's niece Abbie and myself took off early Tuesday morning August the 12th looking for a good morning of fishing… Well that's exactly what we got!
The trip was originally set up for Wednesday the 13th but the weather was going to get nasty due to a front we had coming thru that day. Luckily they were able to go the day before and it paid off in a big way.
The fish could feel the pressure dropping all morning and they could not get enough to eat. It was one of those days were we couldn't do anything wrong. And the quality of the Trout and Reds we caught was top notch.
When the fish bite like that it makes a captain look real good. But we all know that everyday is different. That's why you keep fishing.
Everyone caught nice fish but I will say Mike's niece Abbie is quite the angler and I could tell even at her young age she has had some time on the water…
We caught several nice slot Red fish and I think 3 oversized Reds. A handful of Trout with 2 four pound fish mixed in. There were plenty of nice Mangrove Snapper and a couple of Flounder also.
It was the true inshore slam for North Florida. I don't think you could ask for anything better…
Thanks again everyone for a great time and I hope to see you again next year.
