The fish are still hungry when it's cold and windy during a cold front. The fish are in the mouths of the warm water discharges and creeks and onto the flats where it is still warm. If you can find a combo of mud holes mixed in with the sand flats you will find fish. If the water warms a few degrees during the day, they will move out onto the flats but are staying close to the warmer water source. Reds are taking on dollar crab patterns and fly spoons. Trout are going for the same fly spoons and bait fish patterns that match the conditions. The trout are on the 4 to 5 lbs. size and redfish are 8,9 and 10 lbs. common. There are plenty of slot reds in the creeks and are mixing with the snook. Snook are taking baitfish patterns worked very slowly and fly spoons. The area is north of the Cotee River by about 6 miles. Look for any bayous and and find water between little islands or small bays. Any creek is the ticket so this is where your summer scouting pays off.
