Fishing is steady right now with red fish on the early morning high tides. Target the outside points, islands and oyster bars, look for large mullet schools for a key sign that red fish are close by. Live and fresh cut bait is producing the best action, Live green backs or pin fish rigged on a 1/0 circle hook 2 to 3 feet of 25 to 30 pound leader. Cut mullet into 1 inch chunks rigged with a 2/0 circle hook and same leader. Give a spot about 20 to 30 minutes to see if the reds chew if not move on. Snook are holding in the same areas live green backs for best action.
Shallow water grouper action is in full swing target large structure in 6 to 12 feet with deep undercuts, start with dead bait to get the grunts and snapper active then cast out a big live bait and hold on. When the floating grass gets out of here the Rapala diving plugs are the way to go.
Scallop season is very good in 6 to 8 feet of water we have got our limit in 2 hours max so far this year. There is a lot of mix size scallops right now but they will get bigger as the season goes on.
