Fishing along Florida's east coast has been good reports Captain Keith Mixon (www.mixinworkwithplay.com). Slot size redfish have been active in areas north of Titusville in the Indian River. When fishing early mornings or late evenings, clients have been able to target reds with cut ladyfish or mullet along drop offs in two to three feet of water. On the flats, reds have been caught during mid day around pot holes on scented jerk baits.
Around Port Canaveral, sheepshead have been in abundance around the jetties as well as other structure. Live shrimp have been the ticket when it comes to bringing these tasty fish to the boat. In addition, tripletail can not resist a large live shrimp when rigged on a jig head. These fish have been caught along the channel markers when fished just off the bottom. The daily bag limit for tripletail is two per harvester per day with a length of fifteen inches or more.
