Fishing along Florida's East coast have been very good reports Captain Keith Mixon (www.mixinworkwithplay.com). Weedless jerk baits or live shrimp under a popping cork have worked well for many slot and above slot size reds along the east shore of both the Indian and Banana rivers. Most of these reds have been caught in two feet of water or less. Several gator trout have been caught and released when using Storm's 1/4 oz. Rattlin' Chug Bug on the flats. This is especially true around first light. On the beach, pompano continue to hit sand fleas or shrimp on an out going tide. Several of these fish have been two to three pounds. In Port Canaveral, mangrove snapper just cannot resist live shrimp when fished around structure.
