Fishing for Big Sharks and Small Tunas aboard Hooked Up
March 4th, 2012
Today we started out fishing with Nicole and Rich from Orlando Florida.
It started out with them and 4 others on this trip but as it turned out the other 4 just could not make it and Nicole and Rich both sure PAID the price for them not showing up. Now I know what your thinking when I say they paid the price but no I don't mean $.
Here is how they paid!
We went out to 350 feet of water and set out our 2 kites with 2 live baits suspended from one kite and another live bait and one shark bait suspended from the other. We also sent a shark bait half way down and last but not least a shark bait on the bottom.
Ok the trap was set and now we just needed some kind of a sea monster to come along a take a bite.
Will watch out for what you ask for cause it just might happen!!
Our deep rod with the bait on the bottom bent over and line started screaming off the reel.
Rich jumped in the chair and the fight was on. After 10 or 15 min Rich was done so Nicole jumped in and after 15 more min we needed or should I say they needed more anglers to help (This is where they paid in a big way). Needless to say this turned out to be a very long back and forth tug a war! But they hung in there and after an hour or more up popped this 13 foot plus sea monster! A monster Thresher Shark. Watch out what you ask for!!
Nicole and Rich hope you guys got a good nights sleep because I know you guys were whipped! (LOL)
As we pulled back to the dock we had Lee from Michigan, Doreen and John from Coconut Creek Florida eager to give their luck a shot at some deep sea fishing off the coast of fort Lauderdale aboard the Hooked Up.
This afternoon we were not looking for a sea monster but looking for some action to keep everyone into it.
So we went trolling and ended up catching 8 small black fin tunas and 4 nice bonitos.
Thanks again to all 5 of our anglers today for fishing with us aboard the Hooked up.
