On Sunday, June 24th the crew of RELENTLESS had on board repeat custmer Brad Hatch who traveled a mere one mile from his home in Marshfield for a day of striped bass fishing. Joining him was his son Matt, Son in law Mike and Brad's grandson Jimmy who is 7 years old. Last year Brad and his family fished with us and had a great day fishing for striped bass and blues limiting out in no time. Well, this year would be different as we all know every day is not the same when on the water. We started fishing in the area of Peaked Hill Bar in the deep water after marking large piles of bass and blues and after putting out the 9er rigs we imediatly had large fish on each rig. This was going to be another one of those great trips again, so I thought. As Jimmy reeled in his first offshore fish ever, with a little help from his father Mike, Greg our mate pulled in the rig which had two very large bluefish around ten pounds each. The other rig had the same which Brad landed and we kept two and threw two back to help feed the tuna fish in the area.
Afte departing the area and heading to shallower water we had a slow day jigging striped bass but landed some fro the grill along with a few more bluefish. It was just one of those slow days that surprised us. To me the highlight of the day was watching Jimmy jig with wire, never quitting or whining like some others have done in the past and having memories that will last a lifetime fishng with his uncle, dad and grandfather. This of course in my eyes made it a great trip. We did get to see some nice humpback whales on the way home getting to listen to Jimmy say oooh and aaah watching humpback whales. I did not have the camera operational this day, I forgot the memory card and will try to add a few photos from Brad once he sends them to me. Once again, we appreciate their patronage and hope we can do it again next year.
